Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
The editorial board of the journal "Ukrainian Journal of Educational Studies and Information Technology" considers ethical aspects of publication as a key component of the editorial process. We focus on the fact that everyone who participates in the publishing process (author, editor, reviewer, and publishing house) is responsible for the high quality.
Editorial board of the journal observes the publishing ethics on the basis of the COPE's document Core practices. We assure serious approach to all the publication stages and admits its responsibilities.
Responsibilities of the editor and the editorial board
The editor makes decisions on the publication of the submitted paper basing upon the journal policy and upon the scientific value exclusively as well as upon the reviewers’ decisions. The editor observes current rules concerning the copyright violation and plagiarism. To make correct decisions, the editor has the right to consult with the reviewers or members of the editorial body.
Neither editor nor editorial body has the right to disclose any data concerning the submitted manuscript (author(s), topics, texts etc.) to anyone except the corresponding author, (potential) reviewers, and publisher depending on the situation.
Disclosure and conflict of interests
The unpublished materials represented in the manuscript are not allowed to be used by editor, reviewer or any other informed person without the author’s written agreement. Editor and any other member of the editorial board should not consider the papers in case of any conflicts of interests as the result of common, competitive or other relations with any of the authors dealing with the manuscripts.
Responsibilities of the reviewers
Contribution to the decisions by the editorial board
Expert evaluation is obligatory to take into account while making the editorial decisions favouring, if necessary, the improvement of the considered publication.
Any manuscript and additional materials submitted for the reviewing are processed as the confidential documents. They should not be demonstrated or discussed with the third parties without the editor’s permission.
All the reviews should be objective. Personal criticism of the author is not permitted. The editor (deputy editor) and reviewers are to express their opinions supporting them with the convincing arguments.
Disclosure of information and conflict of interests
Privileged information as well as the arguments obtained in the process of assessment should be confidential excluding its use for personal or third-party benefit. The reviewers do not consider the manuscripts in case of any conflicts of interests due to common, competitive or other relations with any of the authors.
Responsibilities of the authors
The authors should be sure that the submitted manuscript meets following requirements:
- its content is absolutely original;
- it does not contain plagiarism;
- it has not been published before in any language;
- it contains references for the quotations, tables, figures, and the papers by other authors.
The author should avoid multiple or parallel publications. He/she should not publish his/her manuscripts describing one and the same research in more than one journal or initial publication. Submission of one and the same manuscript into several journals contradicts the rules of scientific ethics.
Everyone who has contributed into the concept, carrying-out or interpretation of the published studies should be indicated as the co-authors.
Main author is responsible for the final version of the paper and carrying the consent of his/her co-authors for the publication.
Denial of responsibility
Neither editor, nor editorial board is responsible for the opinions expressed by the author and the content of the published manuscripts. The authors are exclusively responsible for the content originality, manuscript proofreading, and mistakes correction. All the manuscripts are subject to internal and external (blind) reviewing for the authenticity, ethical issues and practicality of the publication. The reviewers’ decisions are the only instrument for the paper publishing in the journal being the ultimate ones.
